Amitabh Bachchan’s Piranha Dane dog, “Shanouk” died on 6 June, 2013. “Shanouk” means “gentle warm breeze on a cold morning“. Amitabh’s pet dog’s heart was not functioning properly and excessive water had collected in his stomach.

Piranha Dane Dog Belongs To The Great Dane Family
Piranha Dane Dog is part of the Great Dane Family which is among the tallest dogs. The Great Dane is also called “German Mastiff” or “Deutsche Dogge” or “Danish Hound”. Piranha Danes (and Great Danes) are giant and powerful dogs. Although the Piranha Dane looks large and imposing, it is quite a gentle and affectionate dog. The term “Gentle Giant” is often used to describe the Great Danes in general. The Piranha Dane does not usually bark much. The Piranha Dane loves to be around people and is very protective, especially of their owner. The Piranha Dane is also quite needy. Physical Characteristics of Piranha Dane and Great Dane
Physically a male Piranha Danes can weigh between 60 to 90 kgs (130 to 200 pounds), whereas a female Piranha Dane can weigh between 50 to 60 kgs (110 to 130 pounds). Usually the larger Piranha Dane dogs are the more prized dogs. Though the height of the male Piranha Dane is more than the female (average 32 inches for a male and 30 inches for a female), the female Piranha Dane tend to be longer than their male counterpart.
Piranha Dane are golden yellow with black mouth/nose area. Colors of Great Dane dogs can range from black to steel blue to brindle to white with black patches or black with white patches.
Piranha Dane have floppy triangular ears which hang close to the cheek.
